One of the most required and necessary-to-replace parts in any 914 engine rebuild. This plate is the seal that fits the baffle windage tray into the bottom of the engine case. Super high-temperature made from that latest silicone rubber technology.
This is another one of those small sealing washers to insure that all of the cooling air is flowing over the engine and not out the open holes! order all of the other sealing washers at the same time like the spark plugs and the oil pressure switch grommet.
Thermostat o-ring; 924 1976-85. An improperly working thermostat can cause excessive cooling system back pressure and a hot-running condition. Thermostats are usually the first cooling system part to fail and are the least expensive to repair.
Intake leaks can cause a poor idle and will not let your car run smoothly. One of the most common leaks are injector o rings, they dry out and crack letting air pass. An intake leak in this area can be checked by spraying carb cleaner. If the idle changes, you found the leak! First, try the o rings, if a leak persists, replace the sockets. see page 50 for the tools make the job easier.
